Current mood: sore

mr. fox is one grumpy doctor.
One up, one down. [...] I used to be a fan of tennis. Team sports with schedules and seasons would not have worked well in conjunction with med school, but I recall that tennis was an effective accompaniment.

I'm nearing the end of my three day weekend. Then it's back to the office on Monday. Interestingly enough, I finally find myself discovering some of the appeal of a slacker lifestyle. Take heed; workaholicism is not all it's cracked up to be.

[Private]

Cataloguing, as is my wont.

Bruises, marks on wrists → long-sleeved shirt
Ribs, also bruised → whore
Blood on shirt; utter headache to wash out on my own, and far too many inconvenient questions from drycleaners → [...] Tossing it out.
Cuts on chest → Bandages, no longer bleeding. Thank god for hypochondriac tendencies; well-stocked first aid kit.
Hands shaky. Goddamn taser
→ Took a day off. Will hopefully be in a state to operate by Monday. If not, some poor unfortunate soul may experience complications and by god I'm not dealing with lawsuits on top of everything—

I feel like a fucking battered wife, for fuck's sake

[...]

She had better be worth it.

Bullshit. Love not sleeping and working 70+ hours a week.

Sounds fantastic. Don't tell me you're getting used to it.

Either, or all of the above. They're both fairly negative, aren't they?

168 hours in a week, 70 to work, ideally around 56 to sleep, some for Matty, others for commuting: that leaves a bit less than 42 spare hours. Spare a moment to pencil me into your hectic 70+ schedule.

Actually, I'm tired of lying around. Is there anything in the city you'd like to see or visit?

[Let's pretend the exhibition is actually open a few days longer than it is.]

My potential pitch? Socrates Sculpture Park. We could take a walk, since last year's exhibition is ending soon. And it's still chilly outside, so café and warming up after.

It's practically a free outdoor museum. I think this year's show has work from ... 'promising young artists'? We could go and evaluate whether the sculptures are any good at all, or if it's just pretentious modernist shit.

(I prefer paintings; I've never been much for sculpture.)

Free is g Sounds like.

(My art experience is limited to Matty's fingerpaintings. On the fridge so you can be an art snob and judge them if you want.)
