Current mood: cheerful

mr. fox returns once more.
Does anyone else feel a certain obligation to be interesting and/or evocative and/or provocative and/or philosophical whenever they write in these things?

After days of tedious paperwork and signing patient release forms, I open the journals only to realise there's not very much I feel like writing. I could begin with DEAREST DIARY in pink script, but I suspect that may not go over well. I might not be the type. Possibly all out of sparkly gel pens, too.

Oh, well.

I've always found it inappropriate to be anything less than scintillating in the compendium.

The sparkly gel pens would be a step in the right direction, I think.

Ah. See, I was not entirely aware it was my task to scintillate. Duly noted.

For a man who pays as much attention to detail as you, I'm rather surprised you missed that memo.

I believe there may be other individuals who could take on the responsibility of that particular memo and its associated duties. Bright young residents, for example? You did so well in Tel Aviv, after all. You could find me interesting material to 'blog' about, thus netting me a large audience and pages upon pages of scribbled response. The mind boggles.

I'm certain my attending resident would have no hesitation assigning me to that task if you made the request personally. While other interns spend their time sewing up scratches and scrabbling over each other for interesting cases, I could spend my time poring over social blogging sites and internet magazines to supply you with endless witty banter material. The possibilities are endless!

I was always told that an intern is nothing more than a slave. Would preference then alter the outcome?

Yes. I'm afraid it means you won't get the position of written social coordinator, whatever that might be.

What a shame. I believe I was exceedingly qualified for the position.

I suppose surgical intern will just have to do for now.

Indeed. The world of Grey's Anatomy (aside: yes, miss Dickering) may display proof otherwise, but I believe we attempt to follow a somewhat different code.

I'd have other things I'd do before tele

Unfortunately, 48-hour shifts means work is all I have time for. I think my TV has been untouched for months now.

I'm sure anything I attempted to knit would end up looking more horrifying than obnoxious. I used to read or go out with friends, but now I spend my free time catching up on the intern's most precious commodity - sleep.
